I’ve known the owner of STF (Diana Anderson) for many years. Our children went to school together so our paths crossed regularly. I was not surprised to hear Diana had started a business to assist the elderly at home. She has a great big heart! Diana and her team from Second to Family were exactly what we needed when my mom was declining due to Alzheimer’s disease. Diana sat down with my sister, my dad and I and listened to our concerns so she could determine how best to help us navigate our way through this new reality that we knew nothing about. Second to Family helped with showers, dressing and daily hygiene, reminded mom to take her medications, cooked meals and did puzzles with my mom and dad. She made a log book so she could document everything that happened during the day to help keep the caregivers and us in the loop. She even read the Bible and prayed with my mom. Second to Family was an answer to our prayers.

STF recently helped us with our aging, ill family member in a time of great need. Diana and her team are caring, professional and responsive. When I had the need to seek help I received an immediate response informing me of the services they could provide, assistance with inquiries to my long term care insurance and knowing they could provide flexibility in scheduling caretakers to fit my needs was very reassuring. Diana is all heart when it comes to being a caregiver. Living out of state when my parents needed care felt almost unbearable. Diana provided several layers of support that in turn helped me feel a bit more peaceful. She advocated for my parents service needs, she brought her fun energy and passion to her visits with them, she informed me about how her time with my parents went, she provided extra TLC to them which totally blessed me.  I could count on her or someone on her team to always show up. My family had the pleasure of hiring Diana Anderson with Second To Family to care for our mom with Dementia and mental illness. We couldn’t have asked for a kinder, more loving caregiver. She always made mom feel special and treated her with dignity and respect. The care Diana took to do mom’s hair and makeup so she could look and feel beautiful everyday showed her genuine heart and love for our mom. I met Diana when she was hired to take care of my brother in law suffering from Lewy Body.  I don’t think God meant for my sister to handle her husband alone, that’s when the Angel appeared. Diana is so compassionate to her patients as well as anyone she meets. I would trust her with any of my family if I ever need her. She truly is an angel sent from Heaven.

While my parents were living with my brother and his wife we wanted to hire some additional care for them, as we had work, shopping and errands to run. So we reached out to Diana at Second to Family, she came to the home to meet my mom and dad. She made a big impression with us, and we hired them to come to assist us with spending some time with our parents. They provided showers and cooking some meals, even just visiting with them. It gave us a much needed break and my parents really enjoyed their company as well. They are truly caring and very reliable, and were a great help to us all.

I was initially very nervous to have Diana come into my home to help care for my husband. Within a day of being in her presence, and seeing the wonderful way she interacted with my husband, I knew I made the right decision. Diana became not just a caregiver to my husband, but a great source of support, knowledge, and friendship to me, and my whole family. I could not imagine navigating the final days of my husband’s life without Diana and her team by my side. Diana cared for my grandmother in her final days. She treated her with love and kindness at all times. We were blessed that she always took time to listen to gram, pray with her, make her laugh, sang with her, did her hair & nails, took her for a stroll outside, and most importantly Diana genuinely loved her. We live out of state and so appreciated the FaceTime calls she would set up so that gram could feel like we were close. Occasionally we would get a call saying that today my grandma could use a pick me up (meaning she would enjoy a telephone visit because she was feeling lonely). Diana was always proactive when she thought something might need to be addressed by a doctor or nurse (which was especially helpful when you don’t see your loved one every day) We entrusted Diana with my Grandma- 100% would do it over again. No one would care for your loved one better.
